I wouldn’t recommend eating at the airport as you are either paying way too much, or inundated with so much junk, it can be hard to make the right choices. I am at the airport in Alberta currently, waiting for the connecting flight to Vancouver.
I have an hour to wait, so I thought grabbing a bite to eat would make sense. Unfortunately, all the healthy choices cost as much as two full unhealthy meals.
It doesn’t seem quite fair. How did we get to the point where unhealthy food was just so much cheaper, or does healthy food just demand a premium because it is now “cool” to eat healthy?
I have been tempted more than once to just grab a bag of licorice, a pop or sugar laden juice, and just hide it from you all, but so far, I have been able to hold off. I have been drinking lots of water, and taking it easy. Once I get into Vancouver, I will work on finding something decent to eat.
The hardest part is resisting the bad choices, the second hardest part is finding food worth eating. I should have packed some fruit to take on the trip, but I incorrectly assumed it wouldn’t be this hard to find a decent meal.
I definitely can’t wait to get this traveling over with, and I am not looking forward to the return flights.
