So there is a new Aquafina Plus+ vitamin water, or rather vitamin enhanced water and as Kathy Boyle pointed out in my previous post on Aquafina Plus+ there is something very different about this product.
You definitely notice the difference when you look at it. The light shines right through it. The product is clear rather than cloudy. And the taste is noticeably different. Before, with the old product, it wasn’t as sweet, or as strong of a flavour. I felt like I was drinking a vitamin enhanced water where the flavour was introduced only to cover up the powdery vitamin flavour that some products have. The new Aquafina Plus+ Vitamin Enhanced Water tastes like they dumped three times the flavouring and sugar into it.
What’s worse is that because it is a “health product”, they don’t have to have the normal labeling that other drinks have, and we will never know how much sugar was in the old one, or in the new one.
They do list the vitamins included as well as the daily recommended value that they include. They don’t differ at all from my previous rundown.
As part of the shift in the product line, they have released two new flavours. To go along with the previous Blackberry Grape, Pomegranate Cherry, and Passionfruit Citrus they have added Orange Tangerine, and Strawberry Kiwi.
Would I recommend the new Aquafina Plus+ vitamin enhanced water? Not so much. It doesn’t taste as good, it doesn’t have the same texture, it is too sweet, and as such it doesn’t “feel” healthy. It feels now more like the juice you’d buy off the shelf with like “25 grams of sugar per serving”. Add to that the aftertaste that Kathy Boyle mentioned in my previous post, and you have a product that I can no longer stand behind.
The conversion from the old Aquafina Plus+ with antioxidant vitamins to the new Aquafina Plus+ vitamin enhanced water is almost complete in my area. I think I might go out and stock up on the old stuff. It may not be any healthier, but it tastes better.
I suggest you all do the same, but drink responsibly. We still don’t know the sugar content in these things.

Congratulations! As you are on this weight loss journey, you are seemingly discovering quite a bit - such as labels can be misleading. Since 25% of a consumers daily calories typically come from beverages, the simplest way to impact that is by reducing the caloric impact of the beverages you drink. Also, which ones have preservatives in them (not so good for you).
Realistically, nothing is better for you than water. Aside from that, to satisfy your sweet tooth for flavor, I’d like to offer you the opportunity to try TrimWater - a naturally flavored water that is lightly sweetened and enhanced with a nutritional profile that helps with weight maintenance. At only 10 calories and 3 grams of sugar per bottle (that’s right, per bottle), it is a great way to have an impact on those extraneous ‘cola calories’ you are otherwise accustomed to, without sacrificing taste.
Let me know if you are interested by emailing me, and I will have a couple of samples sent to you to try.
Good luck on your weight loss journey. Trust me - it’s worth it.
I asked about the sugar content. It is 26g per 591 ml bottle. Below is the response I got back from Pepsi.

Hi Ian,
It was a pleasure receiving your comments regarding Aquafina Plus Passionfruit Citrus.
We are pleased to hear how much you enjoy Aquafina Plus Passionfruit Citrus. All consumer feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Our Product Manager will be delighted to receive your comments.
Because of the vitamins added into Aquafina Plus, it’s classification falls into that of a of Natural Health Product (NHP). NHP is a new category under the Food and Drug Act and all products carrying this designation must undergo a very lengthy approval process. NHP is essentially a mid-point between Food and Drug classifications.
Products are designated as NHP when they contain one or more “active” ingredients. In the case of Aquafina Plus, the active ingredients are the vitamins.
Under NHP regulations, nutritional information is prohibited from being published on the packaging. Instead, the label contains dosage information, as required under the Drug Act.
Per 591mL bottle, Aquafina Plus contains 100 calories, 65mg of sodium and 27g total carbohydrates of which 26g are sugar.
Thank you for the interest you have shown in this product.

I liked the old citrus one better. The thicker one. Especially after a good sweat in the summer heat.
Honestly, i think it’s a great supplement for fruit when you have a busy schedule. If your exercising regularly it can’t be that bad for you. No worse than gatorade.
I think it actually tastes a lot lighter than it did. It can’t have THAT much sugar in it, the strawberry kiwi one taste like watered down kool aid.
Yeah. This is done very trickly as there is not listing for sugar. Calories arent the only issue. Not to mention I had the cherry one and it tastes really nasty. Pure chemicals. Gross!! This is not a health food. Hate to say it folks but stick to the good old water and multi-viatamin!
I was wondering is it safe to drink the Aquafina plus vitamin enhanced water when you are pregnant? Even when you are taking the Materna Vitamins?
I was just curious the Aquafina Water has a pretty short shelf life w/ expiration dates not extending that long. Why does it have an expiration stamp and is it good to drink if it’s months expired I ask b/c my hotel i work for got a ton of this stuff to give to customers but the hotel is closed down for renovations so they have hundreds of these bottles to get rid of and said i can take as much as i want but it expired awhile back……
