Today, I was able to go to Bulk Barn, a store that provides unpackaged bulk foods at a reasonable price with a great selection.
I had a coupon for three dollars off a ten dollar purchase, and so I was looking forward to using it. I bought a variety of nuts, dried fruit, and whatnot. I tried to stay as healthy as possible, though I did buy a tiny bit of junk food.
I am very interested in the soy nuts or whatever they are. They taste a little strange, but I am happy with them, and they seem to be a decent source of protein.
I also bought peanuts, raisins, banana chips, pumpkin seeds, and a few other things. While they aren’t all the most healthy things, I am going to try to reduce the meat in my diet, and have been working out a fair bit. The great thing about nuts, is that they take me a long time to eat. I slowly dip into them and dig them out one or two at a time, and in an hour, I sometimes only eat a dozen or so. A great way for me to deal with my “eating because I am bored” habit.
I only wish that Bulk Barn had printed health information that I could take home because it is hard to figure out serving sizes once you are home with a plastic bag of nuts.
I really enjoy the Bulk Barn, but it isn’t as fun when you aren’t shopping for a big candy binge. It is a great source of nuts and beans and dried fruit you can’t find anywhere else.
