So, I decided last night to record an introductory video for this blog. I go on and off with the whole video production thing, but I think that recording my progress through text, photos, sound and video will help build up a great archive that I can look back on.
Hopefully, in two thirds of a year from now, I will look back on that video, and shake my head at the extra weight that I was carrying.
In this first episode, I cover a little bit about who I am, what I want to do, and what I am looking for with regards to this site.

Sorry for how dark it is. Between not having enough light in my office, and video compression darkening it a fair bit, I know it is hard to see. I will work on the production quality as I continue to do more videos.

Best of luck with your weight loss program. I have one suggestion, and I believe it is make or break, for your success. Any change you make in your habits, not just weight loss, is totally dictated by your beliefs. If you go in with a defeatist attitude you will lose. But the other thing is that it is your core emotion that really matters. You can say that you will succeed in your head over and over, but if at a gut level (no pun intended) you don’t believe it… stick a fork in you, you are done.
May I suggest you start by changing your beliefs. I recognize that this is not a one shot deal, changing beliefs takes a long time. But if you start to focus in on your beliefs (your core emotions) and make new beliefs on why it is so vital to be thin and healthy, why it is EASY to be thin and healthy, and why and how you WILL do it… you have made the most fundamental change to successfully shedding the pounds and not having them come back.

Congratulations for making the decision to get active!
It’s kind of funny that you started this blog just about the same time I started mine! I found this site from the post you made in your other blog. Your goals are exactly what I am trying to help people achieve with my blog.
My one suggestion for you right now is to adjust to your new program one step at a time. Don’t immediately change everything 180 degrees. Focus on doing the right things for your health on a daily basis. If you do that the long term goal should take care of itself. Also, exercise doesn’t have to be as “severe” as running. Start off slowly by doing something like taking a walk with your wife each day then build from there.
Good luck with everything and I will be rooting for you!
p.s. I would be interested in contributing to your blog. Let me know if there is an area you would like covered relating to pursuing an active lifestyle. We can discuss it offline.
